For a family based in Philadelphia, there is nothing better than escaping to Manhattan. Homepolish's Amanda Breslow turned a 2-bedroom apartment into their home away from home.

For most people, the perfect image of “vacation” involves escaping to some idyllic mountain pass, a cabin in a snowy forest, or a warm beach (piña colada, NOT optional). But hey, there are different versions of vacation, and for the Seeley family, nothing beats coming to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan for a couple days. Finding a 2-bedroom right in the center of the Midtown theater district, it was the perfect urban haven.
Except that it was completely empty. The small family hired Homepolish’s Amanda Breslow to take care of the design from top to bottom. Amanda envisioned a calming interior to contrast with the street outside. Neutral-toned upholstery and bleached blond woods (some of which are purposefully left unpolished) look almost beachy. The only pops of color are the occasional artwork and the sweeping cityscapes outside the windows. Speaking of which, you can see the Alvin Ailey dance center right from the living room! (It’s a favorite destination for their daughter who is a dancer.) Maybe she’ll follow the advice of the living room artpiece and pursue her dreams.
