Who

Jonathan Neman & Nathaniel Ru, Sweetgreen cofounders

Designer

For Jonathan Neman and Nathaniel Ru, two of the three Sweetgreen cofounders, Homepolish's Noa Santos cooked up the perfect bachelor pad in SoHo.

Photos by Claire Esparros.

When Homepolish first set up shop in the Flatiron District of New York, there was this this chill (not to mention delicious) salad joint called Sweetgreen right across the street. We like to think of ourselves as healthy, so we were frequent customers (in fact, we still are), but we never imagined that one day the guys who ran the restaurant chain would be OUR customers.

Sweetgreen’s Jonathan Neman and Nathaniel Ru, who along with Nicolas Jammet founded the company, lead what can easily be described as a nomadic lifestyle, jetting around from their home base of Washington, D.C. to New York and Los Angeles. However, that lifestyle doesn’t mean that Jon and Nate didn’t want a well-established bachelor pad in Manhattan. Homepolish cofounder Noa Santos arrived on the scene to help the two take their SoHo loft to the next level. Together, the three balanced buttoned-up with laid-back for a party-ready home.

Noa and his team have great taste, a good sense of humor, and they helped us turn our space into something truly unique. We believe in bringing people together around experiences and Homepolish helped us just do that. Through the process, we not only created a beautiful home but made a lasting friendship.

Hi Pauline–It’s actually a pretty common color: Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray. Hope that helps!

Hey Emily–isn’t that piece gorgeous! It’s DWR.

    Hi Melissa,
Are you referring to the ones in the living room? If so, those are Anthropologie’s Quentin armchairs, but they’re actually velvet! Great pieces regardless!

Hi Bo–it is, in fact, Iron Mountain.

Hi Naomi! That’s from Dash & Albert, the Mali Indigo rug. It’s an indoor/outdoor rug and super durable! Go for it!

Hi Greg, unfortunately, it was a gift to the homeowners.

Hey Naomi, as it turns out, that rug is a family heirloom of the homeowners, so we don’t have the sourcing info.

Hi Jennifer–the sisal base rug is from West Elm, but the other is a family heirloom from the homeowners. Hope that helps a bit!

Hey! Love the chilled vibe you’ve got going around this light and airy space, just wondering what are the large leafy plants used in the living room? Need to have one in my new bedroom design!

    • https://www.homepolish.com Homepolish

Hey Jacob! Those are banana leaf trees–a great and striking addition for sure!

      • Jacob Cosquer

Thankyou so much! I will definitely be getting one I love them, do you know what sort of treatment they need? As in amount of sunlight and things like that? As I aren’t the best plant carer so would want to take extra care so it doesn’t die on me! Thankyou:)

        • https://www.homepolish.com Homepolish

Oof, we know the struggle! Totally depends on the situation in your apartment/home. Consulting with your local nursery expert would be helpful!

  • https://www.homepolish.com Homepolish

Hi Kristen, unfortunately, the owners had those prior to our design work!

  • Megan Maples

Love the grey and wood chairs in the bar area–can you share the source?

    • https://www.homepolish.com Homepolish

Hi Megan, those are beautiful for sure! They’re from a source called Greta de Parry, and they happen to be available right on our own H Marketplace!

Do you have info on the turntable, receiver and speakers?

    • https://www.homepolish.com Homepolish

Hi there–those were the owners’ before we worked on their home. Sorry we can’t help!
