Some New, Some Old
Vintage mirrors from a flea market in Williamsburg brighten the room and act as a simple upgrade to the classic gallery wall.

Taking advantage of high ceilings and designing a new layout without splurging on new furniture.
Moving into a new one bedroom in Williamsburg (from Dumbo) with high ceilings and huge windows, Matt and Allie had their own exciting design ideas but wanted a professional to help edit their layout plans (that's us). A converted factory, the building is beautiful, their apartment is awesome and the architectural details are amazing. Homepolish designer Will loved working with the couple’s great taste and their existing furniture was perfect for the space. Basically, it was a dream project for everyone involved.
Will loves working with high ceiling spaces because he gets to experiment with moving items off the floor and onto the walls. A gallery wall of framed mirrors hangs in the bedroom, the ceiling was painted dark gray and a hanging strategy for the couple’s existing art let them fall in love with their collection all over again. With space but no need for an in-home office, Will transformed the extra room into a very cozy cool lounge area by adding a daybed and stringing One Forty Three from the ceiling. Will’s bright and chic suggestions for a couple’s space? “Let it reflect both people’s interests and make sure its practical for them both. By using pieces that are multifunctional and sized appropriately for your space, you can create openness in the floorplan.” Great advice from a talented guy!

A gray ceiling - Benjamin Moore's "French Beret"! - draws the eye upward and makes the room feel taller.
The original light fixtures were ugly but Homepolish designer Will forwent the need for an electrician and strung lights across the ceiling instead.
A gallery wall in the living room repurposed Matt and Allie's art collection and kept the apartment's walls from feeling cluttered.
Industrial shelving perfectly balances the warm wooden hues found in the flooring and other furniture.
"The clients (and myself) are thrilled with the final outcome...a sleek, comfortable space perfect for lounging and cocktails."
–Will, Homepolish designer
Allie's a teacher and Matt's a lawyer and neither work from home so Will transformed the "home office" into a lounge area that can double as a guest room (that's a day bed!).
