The best offices make you feel right at home... even though you're working. In Boston, Homepolish designer Steven Santosuosso brought that cozy vibe to Pluck PR.

As soon as one visits the website of Boston-based PR firm Pluck, there’s an understanding of who you’re dealing with. On the homepage, there’s a definition of “pluck.” (The noun, not the verb; we’re not talking about eyebrows here.) “Resourceful, spirited courage and determination.” It’s the sort of word you might use to describe a pioneering entrepreneur or maybe the daring young protagonist of a fairytale. Headed by Kate Gundry, it’s a team that looks to approach PR from a different perspective.
And in the same way, the group wanted to approach their office design in a creative fashion. It was the company’s first commercial lease, so they wanted to do things right. To take the stress of designing off their hands, they hired Homepolish’s Steven Santosuosso. The result of their collaboration reads less like office and more like… well, a home. And frankly, we would not be opposed to kicking off our shoes and getting comfortable.
That residential feel is due, in part, from the floorplan. Instead of expansive open workspaces, there are small sitting areas and intimate conference rooms. A mix of seating options from acrylic ghost chairs to midcentury finds dot the space, and shaggy textiles are layered on the floor and walls. One area might even be mistaken for a living room, complete with a sofa, nesting coffee tables, books stacked up in the fireplace, and what’s that we spy? Oh, yes. You can find us over by the mini dry bar.
As a busy entrepreneur, taking on my first commercial lease was a huge step for the business. That fear and excitement was exacerbated by needing to design, decorate, and prepare for moving the team in a few short months. Working with Homepolish alleviated that anxiety. Steve brought great ideas, amazing creative options, and worked with my schedule to get everything done in our timeframe. It was so comforting to have a partner to bring our brand to life in our first owned space.- Kate Gundry, founder of Pluck PR
