We talk about design, Maltipoos, her favorite gowns and the ultimate celebrity wedding with the founder and CEO of wedding planning one-stop-shop Lover.ly's Kellee Khalil.

Kellee Khalil is a business woman after our own hearts. Seeing the disconnect between consumer and product while planning her own sister’s wedding, she built a platform to make it all easier. Lover.ly started as a database for brides- and grooms-to-be and has evolved into a full blown, very well-respected brand with inspiration, shopping, wedding planners and their own dress line! Every great company started as a tiny idea, or something like that.
Kellee has great taste (obviously) so collaborating with her on her Financial District apartment was a breeze. She gave us glittered donuts, we lounged in her shearling-layered living room and chatted about wedding trends, celebs and her pup (that inspired the whole apartment design!). Check it out below.
What’s your favorite neighborhood restaurant?
Tiny’s in Tribecca
Do you have a life or work motto?
“Never say never because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.”
Congrats on your wedding dress collection launch! Do you have a favorite?
For the non-traditional bride, I love our jumpsuits and separates like the Maura or Aria. For bridesmaids, I love the elegant simplicity of the blush Scarlett dress.
Please tell us about those glitter donuts!
Donuts are one of the best sweet treat trends right now! Creative donut ideas have been surfacing across social media, so I thought I would try my hand at a little donut crafting. The glitter is edible, promise!
What are you top three favorite 2015 wedding trends?
I love the non-traditional wedding trends popping up in 2015. Crop top wedding gowns, modern lucite decor details and bridesmaids in pantsuits are a few of my favorites.
What’s your favorite celebrity wedding?
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
If you could pick just one, what’s your new favorite furnishing?
My matching vintage nightstands. I brought them back from my hometown, Los Angeles, and I love how eclectic they feel in the space.
In three words, what feelings did you want to evoke in your space?
Comfort, Style and Coziness
We love your personal style and it comes through so well in your home design! What specific inspirations did you, Noa and Casey talk about in your initial conversations?
The main inspiration for the colors and textures in my apartment were based on my dog, Oliver. He’s a white Maltipoo, so many of the details in my apartment (including the shaggy carpets) were inspired by him.
What was the biggest thing you wanted to change in your apartment?
My building is extremely modern and minimalistic, so I wanted to bring warmth and comfort to my apartment space. Making it feel cozy was key!
