In any city, it can be difficult to make nature part of the interior design of an apartment. Homepolish found a solution that can be implemented in any locale.

Natural elements automatically bring life and levity to any space, if done right (naturally). The obvious answer is bringing in plants and light to a room. But what about those of us who can’t even keep a cactus alive? Or what if your apartment is shafted without any access to the sun? When Homepolish design Sara Touijer redesigned a guest room as a nursery for a new mom and dad in TriBeCa, she brought nature into the apartment without getting her hands dirty. Well, at least not with dirt.

In the new nursery, the most striking part is the large feature wall with an abstract mural of the couple’s favorite outdoor destination: the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. It was important for the clients that their son learned to appreciate the natural world from a young age, even if he lived in the concrete jungle.
