Office dynamics, concrete floors, modern details and streamlined furniture make this office amazing.

The common area of an office environment is extremely important. It’s 2014 and we’re over water cooler basics and onto game-changing snack arenas, relaxation zones and areas where employees can hang out, develop ideas and contribute to an energizing work environment. When e-commerce champion GILT reached out and asked us to revamp their communal areas we were super excited. Lauded for their modern, streamlined products with a classic feel we knew we wanted to represent their impeccable style in the redesign and so brought on Homepolish designer Danielle Arps.
With an eye for industrial elements and unconventional reuse ideas, Danielle was the perfect candidate for this forward-thinking, style savvy brand. By staining simple blocks of wood and using them as replacement legs for the main furniture, she created a cohesive and unique look throughout the office. “The previous solution to the uneven floor was to paint on top of the concrete over and over again,” she said. “But after sanding and washing away the layers, it was actually quite lovely! Sometimes the original look is the best, and you need to take a chance to reveal it.” The final look is clean, modern and much brighter than before. Whimsical touches and cool hues breathe life into the industrial space, making it perfect for company happy hour, impressing a client or even hosting an event. When a space reflects a company this well, it’s bound to do good business.
