Combining modern, masculine, and slightly eclectic elements, designer Tiffany Radnia hits all the right notes in a writer’s minimalist Los Angeles condo.

One of the perks of moving to a new city is being given a clean slate—a chance to reset, declutter, and start fresh in an unfamiliar environment. For a writer making the move from San Francisco to Los Angeles, the same luxury applied to his home. With the help of designer Tiffany Radnia, he was able to achieve a clean, minimalist space, where traces of eclecticism intersect with timeless masculinity.

“We wanted to create a cohesive yet fresh design throughout the entire space,” Tiffany explains. “Keeping the space inviting and masculine yet uncluttered was important.”

To lend the condo eclecticism without disrupting the pared-down aesthetic, Tiffany chose a warm palette of greys, blacks, and whites, then punctuated the space with art that reflected her client’s personality and taste, like two nostalgia-inducing pieces featuring tapes and a stereo in the living room.

“We made sure to pick art pieces that had personal meaning to my client, which helped make the space feel unique,” Tiffany relays.

In the master bedroom, the designer struck a serene chord with a large-scale, blurry beach photo above the bed—the perfect match for the room’s white and grey palette. She also injected the space with masculine touches through wooden furniture, like a white oak platform bed flanked by two walnut nightstands, to deliver a handsome effect.

“Mixing different woods and textures was also a detail we both focused on,” Tiffany says. “Whether it was a leather sofa, wood chairs or textured Hyde bench, we made sure each piece was special.”

For the exposed walk-in closet—essentially an extension of the bedroom—Tiffany wasn’t afraid to let wood make a dramatic statement. She offset the boldness of the wood-clad room with a natural-colored rug and a tufted brown bench, establishing a space that’s both inviting and aesthetically pleasing.

Tiffany also transformed her client’s outdoor terrace into an oasis for entertaining or taking a pause from writing. She selected a sleek, linear sofa and matching chairs that mimic the minimalist, modern feel of the interiors. To layer in some visual texture, she accented the furniture with striped throw pillows and selected a Moroccan-style table to tie the space together.

“My favorite part of the design was working with a blank slate and seeing the space come together in the way my client truly envisioned it,” Tiffany says.

Sounds like the perfect backdrop for a writer to begin his next chapter.
