With one child and baby number two on the way, a family moved into a Venice Beach bungalow. Homepolish's Haley Weidenbaum helped them redesign the space into a white and bright home... just in time for the due date.

It’s the first week of summer, and you know what that’s got us thinking about? You got it. Sunning, swimming, and beaching. And we have just the project for you. Out in Venice Beach, a young family was prepping for baby number two. To make room for the new addition to the family, they upgraded to a bigger space just a couple months before the due date.

Homepolish’s Haley Weidenbaum came on board to make sure everything was beautiful (and not to mention, kid-friendly) by the time the kiddo showed up in their lives. Initially, the family had very little… a white sofa, a toddler-sized bed, a changing table, and some art with an airplane. Not quite enough to call it home yet.

As with many homes on the coast, the family wanted to keep the space light and bright, allowing that California sun bounce around the home (as well as the kids). The accent color that runs throughout is a playful blue, dare we say reminiscent of the beach? The whole home keeps a fun and accessible vibe, except for one space: the master bedroom. This was designed as their personal oasis. And you know what? With two kids on their hands, they need it.
