Get to know Barbara
Growing up with an auctioneer for a father in upstate New York, Barbara developed an affinity for creating spaces that incorporate unique furnishings. After receiving a degree in nutrition and science, she moved to Boston to pursue interior design at Boston Architectural College. This background has helped her to approach projects holistically, as she creates or redesigns spaces in a way that is attentive to the impact they will have on the people living in them. Barbara often uses products that reflect this mission and sources locally whenever possible. She lives by designer William Morris's words "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." She loves design pieces and the stories they tell of their owner.
Barbara was recently on History Channel's "American Pickers" with her father.
What clients say
I absolutely love my apartment and loved working Barbara! She was very easy to work with and my apartment is above and beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Homepolish and Barbara to anyone looking for some design advice.
We loved working with Barbara! She was a pleasure to work with, very professional, and extremely helpful and flexible in allowing us to get the most out of our time with her and focusing on what we wanted to prioritize in the different spaces within the apartment. She really got our aesthetic, and as a result her suggested designs and pieces were often spot on in terms of what we were looking for, with the right amount of flair / pushing something slightly different that I would not have picked out myself; exactly what we were hoping for through this package. I was very satisfied with my experience and have already recommended Homepolish to friends.
Barbara was wonderful to work with and we love our new space in the study.
